I just got into candles for the first time. I've always had bad asthma and hated anything scented—especially scented things that smoked. But I admit I love the way holiday scented candles can make your entire house smell like cinnamon, gingerbread, and pine, and thankfully, candles haven't bothered me as an adult nearly as much as they used to when I was younger.
Over Christmas break, I made a bunch of orange scented soy candles as gifts. I got better at it the more I did it, and I love this summery lemon sage scent.
Soy candles are great because they burn longer, cooler, and cleaner than their paraffin counterparts. Plus, I think they're prettier because they dry these wonderful pastel shades that are perfect for decorating your home.
I added a fabric ribbon to mine as a finishing touch. Check it out on Etsy!
